WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extensions are synthetic eyelashes that mimic your natural lashes; its design features a tapered tip with a thicker base to resemble the look and feel of a natural lash. These extensions are then  applied one by one to each individual natural lash. By applying these lashes on only one lash at a time instead of quickly laying it atop of multiple lashes, your natural lashes are given the freedom to move and shed as they naturally would and causes little to no irritation or heaviness. Resulting in the luxurious natural look of Eyelash Extensions.

WHAT DOES THE APPLICATION ENTAIL?

Expect your initial eyelash extension appointment to be scheduled for up to 2 hours as you will have a comprehensive consultation with your stylist. Your stylist may ask questions about your health and lifestyle to ensure Eyelash Extensions are right for you.We then will ensure that you are relaxed and comfortable as we transforms your lashes with a meticulous and artful eye!

 

In your painless and relaxing eyelash extension procedure, you will lay down on your back with your eyes closed. Next,  your lash artist will expertly, isolate an individual natural lash then attach one eyelash extension to this single lash.  Creating a seamless lash attachment, making your lashes look and feel as natural as possible. Repeating this  lash placement over a hundred times, clients will usually fall asleep! You then wake up to longer, thicker, more voluminous lashes!

DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS DAMAGE YOUR NATURAL LASHES?

Because we care about your safety during and after the procedure, eyelash extensions are never applied to your skin and only to your natural eyelashes. As a certified lash artist, I will select and apply the suitable lash extensions based on the health of your natural lashes. My main priority is to preserve your natural lashes’ health. When applied correctly, natural lashes should never hurt or cause your natural lashes to break off. Your lash artist will recommend never pulling or tugging on your extensions, which will help you not to damage your natural lashes.

HOW LONG DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST?

With proper at home care, the adhesive will last anywhere from 6-8 weeks. However, you do lose 3-5 natural lashes everyday. That is 21-35 lashes lost per week. After an average of 2-4 weeks, most clients will want to come in for a "touch up" to keep their lashes looking full. There are many factors that could affect the retention of your extensions including improper home care, not cleaning the lash line, oily eyelids, the use of oil based products on or around the eyeline, medications, allergies, thyroid or hormonal issues, lifestyle, seasonal changes, a natural heavy lash shed, and so much more. CAN I WEAR MAKEUP / MASCARA?

The eyelash extensions and the adhesive are both deep black to give the appearance of mascara and often times eyeliner, so makeup is not really necessary. If you do decide to wear makeup/mascara, avoid oil based and waterproof products as those will break down the adhesive faster. The most important bond of the eyelash extension and the natural lash is at the base so mascara may be worn on the tips of the extensions which can allow you to go an extra few days before your touch up and straighten any "lazy lashes". HOW DO I CARE FOR MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

It is necessary to clean and brush your lashes/lash line daily to prevent eye irritation, infection, blepharitis or other eye health issues. To do so, use our oil-free makeup remover on your lash line/extensions to fully remove any makeup/debris in the lashes so as to keep your eyes healthy and allow the lashes to perform their primary function of keeping things out of your eyes!  For extra protection, use our Xtreme Lashes Lash Coating Serum to  protect your lashes from dust, debri, excess oils twice a week. At Sandy Dav Studios we are licensed Estheticians and hold several professional Certifications for eyelash extensions. We will don't rush our service and take our time to make sure that each extension is properly applied on only one single lash at a time. Our primary focus and specialty is ensuring your natural lash health is protected throughout the duration of wearing eyelash extensions. If at any point your lash artist observes damage being done to your natural lashes or it is assumed that the extensions are too heavy for your natural lash, adjustments in the length and/or weight of your extensions will be made and discussed with you to ensure your natural lash health is protected! If ever you are concerned about the process or your natural lashes, we invite you to ask as many questions as necessary to feel comfortable and confident in your lash artist's ability to not only give you great lashes, but an amazing experience that you can enjoy for years to come!
